Emily Parker New Iberia, LA Obituary – Hair Stylist and Makeup Artist Dies after Tragic Accident

With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Emily Parker Posegay, a beloved daughter, wife, mother, sister, niece, and friend. Emily, age 38, left us unexpectedly on Friday, December 5, 2025, in Baton Rouge, leaving behind a trail of love, laughter, and kindness that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. Funeral services will be held at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2025, with Pastor Jerry Fitch officiating. Visitation hours will be from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. on the day of the service, providing an opportunity for friends and family to gather, share memories, and celebrate her remarkable life.

Emily was born in New Iberia on April 18, 1987, and was a proud graduate of New Iberia Senior High School. From her earliest days, she was a radiant presence in her community and her family’s lives. Known affectionately by loved ones as “her Dad’s Little Coconut,” “Mom’s Baby Girl,” “Laura’s M&M,” and “Aunt M,” Emily’s personality was a tapestry woven with wit, humor, and boundless creativity. Her infectious laughter and genuine warmth made her a bright light in every room she entered. She was the type of person who instinctively reached out to help others, always first to lend a hand when someone was in need.

Throughout her life, Emily’s talent for hair and makeup went far beyond mere aesthetics. It was a gift rooted in her deep desire to boost confidence and make others feel beautiful, seen, and loved. Whether she was styling a friend’s hair or helping a family member prepare for a special occasion, Emily’s touch was magic. Her ability to bring out the inner beauty of those around her was a reflection of her compassionate heart and her unwavering belief in the goodness of others.

Emily was also an incredible hostess. She had a rare talent for turning ordinary gatherings into cherished memories. Her warm hospitality made everyone feel valued and included. Whether hosting a holiday meal, a casual get-together, or a spontaneous celebration, Emily’s vibrant spirit and genuine kindness created an atmosphere of love and belonging. Her infectious smile and positive energy uplifted all who encountered her, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts.

Though Emily struggled quietly at times, her love for her family, friends, and community was unwavering. Her kindness, warmth, and generosity left an imprint on everyone she knew. She loved fiercely and gave wholeheartedly, and her legacy of compassion will continue to inspire all who were touched by her life.

Emily is survived by her loving husband, Steven Posegay; her children, Carson and Ella Posegay; her parents, John William Parker, Jr. and Janice Marie Rogers Parker; her siblings, Laura Richard (Troy), Brandy Smith (Damon), Brent Parker, and Lita Munson (Donny); nieces and nephews, Connor Smith, Parker Smith, Aubrey Richard, Mason Richard, Emerson Richard, Leah Parker, Jaide Parker, Preston Parker, and Breeanna Munson; and her godmother, Theresa LaCour. She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Estelle LaCour Carter, John Parker, Sr., Alvin Rogers, and Mae Ella Rogers.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions be made directly to them, supporting her children and continuing her legacy of love and kindness.

Emily’s creativity, humor, and compassion left a profound imprint on everyone she knew. Though her presence is dearly missed, the love she shared remains with us—unmarred, unforgettable, and everlasting.
